Unlocking the NOAH Piano App: A Quick Guide for Parents

Thank you for making time to play. In 10 years from now, you will be glad you did.

This guide will help you and your child navigate the app and introduce you to all the features you need to know in order to get the best possible learning experience.

Getting Started

  1. Launch the App: Open the Little Composers app on your device.
  2. Familiarize with the Layout:
    • Play Pads: At the bottom of the screen, you’ll find the play pads represented by cute animals:
      • B: Bird
      • C: Camel
      • D: Dolphin
      • E: Elephant
      • F: Fish
      • G: Giraffe
      • A: Alligator

Playing and Generating Melodies

  • Touching Animals: Simply tap on any of the animal play pads to produce the corresponding musical note.
  • Composition Module: Above the play pads, you’ll see the composition module which allows for creating seven-note melodies.
  • Octopus Button: Press the octopus button to generate a new melody. Your child will love the surprise of discovering new tunes!

More Composition Module Features

  • Changing Notes:
    • Up Arrow: Tap the up arrow above the smaller animals to make the melody higher.
    • Down Arrow: Tap the down arrow below the smaller animals to make the melody lower.

Listen, Watch and Learn

  • Play Buttons:
    • Rabbit Button: Press to play the melody at a normal speed.
    • Turtle Button: Press to play the melody at a slower speed, perfect for beginners.

Note Names

  • ABC Button: Tap the ABC button in the upper left corner to display the note names next to the play pads. This feature helps children learn musical notes while having fun!

Tips for Parents

  • Encourage Exploration: Allow your child to experiment with different animals and melodies. Creativity is key!
  • Learning Together: Sit down with your child and explore the note names together to enhance their musical knowledge.
  • Regular Practice: Encourage regular use of the app to develop their musical skills and confidence.

Troubleshooting

  • Sound Issues
    If you don’t hear any sound, please remember that NOAH is just a web page that contains special code to make it function and look like an app. If you can play sound from a YouTube video or any other web content on your device, NOAH should also work without issues. Ensure your device's volume is turned up and that the sound isn’t muted.
  • Technical Support
